Hi, I'm Finley, a Mathematics student at the University of Cambridge, providing tutoring for a range of subjects at A-level and GCSE.
About me
A lot of the time tutoring feels intimidating and stressful on the student. My tutoring prevents this by keeping students engaged and giving them an understanding of topics, allowing the student to thrive on their own and not be reliant on teachers or a tutor to have to tell them what exactly to do. The exams which I'm preparing my tutees for are still fresh in my mind, so I can bring a more relatable approach to the tutoring, whilst still keeping a high level of academic standard.
Qualifications
- Achieved eight grade 9s and two grade 8s at GCSE. (Equivalent to all A*.)
- Achieved grades A*A*A*A*A* at A-level in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, and EPQ.
- Achieved S1 in STEP (Cambridge Mathematics entrance exam), amongst the top 10% of Cambridge mathematics offer holders.
- Top 20 national finalist in the Elite Oxford University Computing Challenge.
- Top 100 nationally in the British Physics Olympiad.
Experience
- Volunteered weekly to tutor stuggling GCSE Maths students at Gordano School.
Subjects
GCSE
Mathematics
Looking at both the foundation and higher tier, I can help with any topic or go through challenging past paper questions.
Computer Science
I can help with both the theory and programming aspects of the course, programming in Python or JavaScript.
Physics
I can provide tutoring for both the foundation and higher tier of GCSE Combined Science or Triple Science.
A-level
Further Mathematics
I can offer tutoring for the Core Pure modules, Further Statistics 1, Further Mechanics 1, as well as the Further Pure 1 and 2 modules (may vary depending on exam board).
Mathematics
I offer tutoring for the entire of the A-level Mathematics course, from integration to kinematics.
Computer Science
Providing tutoring for both papers of the A-level Computer Science course, including programming in Python or JavaScript. (Please note I cannot help with the NEA directly.)
Physics
Covering everything from the A-level Physics course, from quantum mechanics to astrophysics.
STEP, TMUA, MAT, AEA
I can provide tutoring for mathematics entrance exams, looking at past papers and sharing some techniques beyond A-level.

Online (Zoom)
Pricing ranges between £20 and £25 per hour, depending on the subject and level.
In person (Portishead Only)
Only on personal request for now.
